Boom Audio VOX headset wind adj.FIX
Adjusting the VOX on your headset is a pain when you have loud pipes or reach high speeds on the highway.
I have come up with a fix or an improvement for this problem. In the eye glass section a wal-mart is a eyeglass repair kit that comes in a 7/16 square tube, about 4" long, under 3 bucks. (The kit has a small screwdriver, nose pads and some screws) Take this tube and cut it into two 7/8" lengths using a single edge razor blade,it fits perfect over the Boom Audio headset mic. On this square tube, measure 3/16 from each and cut out section between the lines in the middle on one side of the tube. Careful not to cut the end sections, as you need these to hold the tube in place over the mic.Carefully remove the foam wind guard from the Boom Audio headset, slide the plastic tube over the mic and direct the center hold toward your mouth when the helmet is on. Now replace the foam wind guard by sliding it over the plastic tube, back to it's original position .Note -Watch to see that the side cuts on the tube isn't covering the speaker vents, when the tube is slid flush with the end. If so, trim opening. You should now be able to increase the VOX when riding.
