Default SE 255 Cams

Hello everyone, im fairly new to this site and ive only posted a couple of times. I did get great responses though. Anyway, i am plannin on doin some different cams in my stock 09 street glide. I do about 50/50 2up riding, and am looking for more low end torque as well as mid range. Little more pulling power and passing power would be nice. Im usually shifting from 2k-4500 rpm. From what ive gathered from different posts i have decided 2 go with the 255 for now until i do a big bore later on. Ive seen posts talking about getting used ones from forums like this so i thought id give it a shot. If anyone has a set theyd like to get rid of or know somone who does, id appreciate a chance at them. Not sure how 2 contact people on here other than a post so id greatly appreciate some responses. Sorry for such a long post. And thanks in advance!

You can post in the Wanted To Buy section or just keeping checking the classifies here on the Forum. They are offered for sale here often. Good luck with your search.

Look in the forum classified section. There are usually several there for sale. I have bought two sets there. love them, great cams, plenty of low end torque. Going price for good low mileage used seems to be around $125.00 to $150.00 shipped.

Yes, depends on your riding style. If you ride mostly between 2000-3500 rpm it's a nice cam for the money. It will also make your 6th gear more usable. If riding 2 up you will also benefit from the 255. Overall for the money it would be a nice cam if it fits your riding style. I'm sure there will be plenty here that will have their opinion and will suggest other cams.

Keep an eye out in the classifieds here and on eBay. You should be able to get a set between $100 and $150.

Mine is an Electra Glide and I do mostly 2 up riding and found the 255's made an appreciable difference.

i looked on craigslist and ebay found a guy with a stage 2 103 kit and convinced him to sell me the cams.. offered him 75 but had to go to 100 bucks to get them.. i had never even seen one of these cams before so i took a buddy along with me who worked on harleys to verify i was getting the right ones.. might not be a bad idea to keep that in mind if you buy local..

as far as power goes i love these cams.. i've only ridden it a mile or two since the install but with a otherwise stock bike the increase in power and in sound was very noticable well worth the money imo.. my buddy that did the install has 254e cams in his fatboy and it pulls great uptop but not down low which is where i ride 90 percent of the time.. pull the trigger on these.. you wont regret it

My buddy just had 255's put in his 2011 Street Glide (103), along with a breather, slip-on's and a tuner. He asked me to ride it and see what I think. Man, it pulls strong! It literally didn't feel like the same bike. If yours runs anything like his, you won't be able to wipe the smile off your face or let go of that throttle.
