Thanks for the reminder db2753.

I saw a video of some guys passing a basket ball back and forth. I was supposed to count the number of passes. Well, I counted the passes but failed to see the moonwalking bear dance across the screen.

Keep those eyes moving.

this is very interesting to understand the "didn't see you" phenom. So, is there anything in the study that says we as "yellow dots" can do to not disappear from someones sight due to their motion blindness? like a particular riding style? or are we helpless in this case? seems like the answer would be we are helpless but it would be interesting to study.

That's pretty wild!

It has to be similar to what I discovered long ago as a photographer. Back in the day of film (remember film?), and creating prints in the darkroom, part of the finishing process was to "spot" prints with liquid dye. (white spots were created by dust on the neg as the paper was exposed - essentially, you painted dye onto the print with a brush) I found the best way to find every spot for repair, was not to stare at a stationary print, but to shake it slightly by hand while looking at the print. What I couldn't see before, literally jumped out at me.
