Bluetooth had a very limited range - typically only 10 metres or so. When used in the context of the device, BT is used to pair with local devices eg Satnav and / phone.
Generally a BT device can only pair with 1 other device. This is a BT limitation, so don't be misled by fancy claims of a device that hooks up with everything including the toaster!
That said, I use the Scala G4 and I am very happy with it
