On Saturday I was picking out a headlight for my soon to be delivered 2012 SG. I was looking for daytime visibility. The dealer turned the lights on used bikes and the TL was easily the brightest in the daylight...HD looked better though. Hoping the TL's will give old Esther or young Megan (on her cell phone) a tiny bit better chance of seeing me. At any rate I will be "covering" the brake anyway.
I have the headlight, running lights and the tail and turn lights all LED's. Had the dealer do the install. They said that other than the tail lights it is just a plug and play thing. Super easy. I love the lights.
Just put on the HD LED headlight and passing lights. I live in the country and the lights do a great job of illuminating the side of the road also. I initially put the passing lings on upside down and they were shining in the trees. Right side up works much better. Good addition to the bike but I need to make an adjustment socket and fine tune the passing light aiming.
I have the HD ones and love them, I also like the looks better over TL. The Phase 7 lights look way better. I was at the indy dealer I go to and we were talking about the LEDs and he was showing me them in a Kury catalog.
Has anyone bought or tried to buy the HD style directly from JW Speaker? If so was there a significant price difference?
I like the optics on my HD LED on my Street Glide. The big difference was when I added the LED passing lights. I bought my headlight with adapter ring direct from the people thatt make them for HD saving $. Everyone that has rode by me says they get beside me for the light. Several are getting there LED's now. Pricey, yeah. But if you ride a lot at night I'd rather spend several hundred and have safer vision and less eye strain than several hundred on chrome or other non functional things.
The link takes you to thier site. But how did you purchase?
