The Power Package I purchased from Fuel Moto finally arrived today and I started taking apart my 06 RKC to put in the new parts. So after putting in the Power Commander I started taking apart the breather element to install the Stage 1 kit. First thing I noticed after taking the cover off is that she already has a K&N filter. It was dirty and there was more oil on it then I'd probably put on it, but overall it was in good shape. I also noticed that the back plate was chrome. It has a shield type logo etched in it with a patent number underneath it.
So my stupid question is this. Unless I'm mistaken, the K&N filter with the chrome back plate is a Stage 1 kit. Does that sound like a correct assumption to you? If so, I guess I don't need the one from Fuel Moto.
I guess I'm a little confused though. I had thought that a Stage 1 by itself wasn't a very effective upgrade. Guess I'm wrong. Seems I now have an extra Stage 1. Think I'll re-use the K&N though.
A "stage 1" it the combination of free flowing intake, exhaust, and some type of fuel management, the intake by itself is just a component of the stage 1 package. Maybe they'll give you money back, FM is pretty straight, worth asking.
if it has a stg1 download in the ecm it may need a different map for the pc?not sure but i would look into it.
I agree... Not sure how you are gonna find this out but the map will be different with and without the ecm download. maybe I missed it but what tunner did you get from FM?
