Oh, how I have to totally disagree with that statement. I run the HD Gore Tex suit, Red Wing waterproof boots and Gore-Tex gloves. I don't wear a hood with a helmet, I find a hood to be a rain collector to get you wet. Yes, your mug is gonna get wet, the key is to live with that and button up the suit so water doesn't trickle in. I do wear a hood when i don't wear a helmet sometimes, but then I wear a ballcap under the hood and pull it very tight to keep out all the water I can. I have ridden in some horrendous rain, the kind where I should probably pull over and have been in some several day rains, especially on my Alaska journey, most times when I "unsuit", I am completely dry, on those days I don't pay enough attention, I may have a little "v" on my shirt front where the water leaked in. SOAKED? Hell no! That is just miserable, I know, 38 years of riding, it took me about 25 of them to figure out good gear and learning how to use it is how to keep dry. The other 25 years, well yeah, I squished a lot when I walked around.

Wear it under the helmet for sure. But that only works best with a 1/2 or 3/4 helmet as I can't see my FF helmet fitting with the hood under it, at least not the hood that's on my rainsuit.

The new rain suit will leak unless you water proof it, personally they do a lousy job of that so you have to prep it yourself.
Wally world, sporting dept, has a waterfroofer in the camping section. Spray the suit down well and let it hang dry, once dry hit it agian, concentrate on seams, let dry over night then roll it up and put it away, it will then keep you fairly dry.

I bought the Frogg Togg Road Toad suit spacific for motorcycle riding the cheaper frogg togg suits not good for riding . i stay dry wear hood under half helmet .

i opted not to use the Iron on heat sheild that came with the suit . Instead i bought an old black leather coat at a thrift store , cut out some large patchs treated them with SnowSeal and sewed them on iner leg were they might touch the pipes.

i bought it on sale a thrifty $54 at http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/c....aspx?a=516603

Waterproof and breathable frogg toggs non-woven, completely seam-sealed polypropylene fabric
Frog EyzzŽ reflective piping for better visibility at night
"Action-cut" raglan sleeves for high-mobility, full-body cut fits comfortably over insulated clothing
Seamless shoulders and other stress points for strength
Tuck-away hood
Snug wrist and waist bands keep out wind and rain
Front zipper, nickel-plated spring-snap storm flap
Pass-through pockets on pants
Zippered leg openings go on easy over boots or shoes.
Machine wash / drip dry. Imported

I have the Harley Overpass rain gear and have worn the hood under my half helmet in extremely heavy rain and stayed dry. I have never added waterproofing to this rain gear and it has not leaked if I put it on correctly. Like frog13 said if you don't get it tight around your neck you might get some dampness there. I usually keep the hood folded in the collar unless it is very heavy rain.

Hey, after wearing the hoodie under your helmet a few times, it will come natural to you. Another good habit to develop with the bottoms is:
"Toes go in first" !!!!
