Default Heat Demons

Just installed Heat Demons on my 2012 Road King yesturday and wanted to pass on some tips . there is enough play in the T.B.W. cable in the headlight so it makes it easy to pull the twist grip assembly out of the bar. There is a orange and white wire off the headlight to use for power and a black wire for ground.solder all wire connections its worth the extra time, took about 3.5 hours, just take your time.better than letting the Dealer do it

I had a set of heat demons installed on my new street glide by the stealership.

I was charged for a left and a right hand side Heat demon kit (2x$150)
+ 3hours labor @ $90hr for a whopping total of $604.02

my question is to needing 2 separate kits a left and a right, is this accurate or did this guy try to rip me off?

My bike is being delivered to my home on Wed, but I want to address this issue prior to taking delivery.

sorry no thread jack intend.

Learn to do it yourself and then you are no longer at the dealer's mercy for installations such as this. Then you will save time cleaning the **** off of your boots from putting them to asses at the dealer......

My first set of heat demons using their connectors had repeated issues. I checked all connections with an ohm meter, but still, right side not as hot, both sides took quite awhile to heat up. A year later I put another set in this soldering all connections nad heat shrink and both sides were equally hot and warmed up instantly. Before they never got real warm, now I don't go past setting #2 of 4.

I do most of my own work on my vehicles , but In this instance I used a $1000 gift card that was part of the deal on my new street glide.

I used the gift card for the black led headlight, and the heat demon grip warmers.

I figured since I was not having it delivered to my home for a few weeks (winter in Michigan), I would just have the dealer do the work while the bike was in their secure, heated , storage facility.

I had not as yet purchased my service manual( ordered one yesterday).

So I would not have had the knowledge to fool with tearing apart a brand new motorcycle, that frankly I would much rather be out riding.

My issue was not with the cost of paying the labor, it was with being over charged by $150 (I was charged for 2 heat demon kits, a left and a right.)

To be fair... the "accessories specialist" Tim, who normally handles helping customers customize their new bikes was off that day.

I was helped by a service writer from the service department.
It is possible that this was an honest mistake.

I bought this last week to make things a little easier on myself in the future.
