This may sound like a stupid question. but frightprops says don't drop below 20 psi. then the question would be when I finish putting everything together it will be at 0 psi so then nothing should ever work because I'm below 20 psi right off the bat. Just wondering
I seamed to have that problem once when i was trying to figure out wich way the air flow went since it wasnt marked, but I forgot about it later and when I got everything mounted up I just held my wires on the battery (not wired yet) and up she went!
So I dont know if its really going to be a problem or not.
It will be a problem when you dump the air for the first time. You will then have to put your finger over the exhaust port ti get 20psi build up. I will be replacing the solenoid with another soon, for now I just don't go below 20 psi
got my air ride installed today...only problem that i have is if i let out all the air i have to put my finger over the exhaust port to get the compressor to fill up the shocks!! WTH. someone please help. do i have a bad solenoid? no kinks in the air lines, no leaks, all fittings tight. do i have a bad solenoid?????
nice bike! thats identical to mine when i got it. i dont have air ride tho...
its in the werks!
Ok, so ive dumped mine many times including pulling off a hose and it ALWAYS airs back up. So maybe I just got lucky.
I was making a bracket to hold a 1.5" viair guage and switch, I wasnt really happy with where I could put it and not see while ridding, so I ordered a 2" for the fairing and CVO switch.
After I pulled the stock air guage I got to thinking....
I pulled apart the stock guage and modified it, tore apart the viair guage and installed its guts in the stock housing.
Im waiting for all the epoxys to dry before I can reinstall, but I think its going to work. 60lbs may be 70 degrees, but who cares if it reads right, all I have to do is figure out how many degrees feels good and thats what I set it for!
It looks stock with the light and all.
Ill post some pics up next weekend when I get back in town and get it back together.
If his set up is what i think it is search diy air ride. You will be able to find all the parts you need there. Talked to a guy in ocean city md at the bike week last week and said he loves this set up. So i searched it my question to the op is do you have any issues with the axle nut hittin the exhaust? I read some guys have that issue some dont. Really lookin to do this for 1 of my winter mods.
