I used to have a 1200 sportie with 16" narrow glide apes on it. I hit a pothole one night so hard I rocked the bars waaaaaaay back towards me. Almost lost it. I had to stop and loosen the clamps to put them back where they belong. Yeah, potholes suck!
How did your choice of footwear make a difference with the pot hole?
Well my boots sure make me more sure footed the tennis shoes slid when I tried to catch myself. I stepped into the pothole and when I tried to keep myself from going over ....... no traction the rest is history..... I think I could of caught it in time to geeze I hate to say it but go over. Let me rephrase the first part...... I stepped in the pothole at a stop sign Now theres the rest of the story

Huh?? How do you not look down as you're pulling up to a stop? The only other person I've heard of this happening to is my ex-wife and she's... well, she has some "problems", but they're very close to zeroing in on her proper medication dosages.

I was raised on a farm with livestock, so I learned early in life to watch where I put my feet.
The best thing about your ex-wife is the ex part huh? lol
Not much more needs to be said except tennis shoes didn't help..........

I'm assuming everybody thought you drove through a Pothole, not that you stepped into one.

So, you wanna tell me to f-off because I merely pointed out the obvious?
IDK Man, if you're having a hard time keeping your eyes & attention on all of the places they should be while riding, then maybe you need some help. Perhaps a basic rider course would help to keep you from becoming a statistic.

You are correct, at least in my case.

Meh, been divorced for 21 years and get along better now than ever.
Potholes are the reason I changed to a 16"er up front on my evo, after bending 2 21's on potholes back around 89-90, on went the catsquasher.ever since I've been anti 21 and I like the look on a Bagger but just don't trust them. Have they improved. The strength of them over the years?
