I did a 12 X 16 shed last summer, for dead storage I can get the 2 rice bikes and 2 riding mowers in it, but that is about it. I can get the EG, ZZR, ZRX and 1 riding mower in it for dead storage.

There is no way you are going to work on a bike without 3 feet of free space around it on all sides, and that is what I would consider the minimum.

This condensation, whether it be in the spring when the frost comes up or in the summer during humid times transfers to the bike and the bike is soaked with condensation top to bottom. Of course I wash my bike - of course my bike gets rained on - but of course I dry my bike too so as to not have it rust. "status symbol"? No, i don't roll that way, but I do take pride in the fact that I own a pretty nice looking bike and I work hard to earn it - and I don't plan on having it become a rust bucket.

My bike is not a garage queen. I happen to ride my bike every chance I get putting over 10,000 miles a year in our short season and travel across the country every year so again your original statement was ridiculous.

I can handle someone disagreeing with me but you come at me with these over the top BS statements to refer to me being some over protective idiot so I responded.
....I agree with you wanting to protect from the condensation..quick story on that, sister calls me, her lawyer neighbor had a 1200 Sportster 5 years old with 500 miles on it he wanted to sell, he bought it, rode a few times, got bored, and wanted to sell..he has no idea what it's worth...sis tells him her brother is a Harley nut, who can look at it and give him an idea...I go there thinking I'll score one off the guy, flip the bike, and make a quick grand or so...he takes me to the garage,...it's a stone garage with a dirt floor...the bike has a tarp over it, lashed down with some rope....he says he hasn't taken the tarp off in 4 years...he lifts the tarp...and there is a completely pitted, and rusted hunk of HD, with a moldy seat...I didn't even make an offer and told him he should try for $2500...think he paid $10,000 for the bike...sad...so yes...protect that bike..

Hey Bud! I built a 12x16 shed out behind my house. I call it my security system. Because if anybody wants to steal my bike, they have to take it out of the shed, through 300 feet of 15" deep snow to the road. If they do that, they want the bike more than I do! ANYWAY, I digress. The !2x16 shed is barely large enough for me to drive the bike inside and turn it around, but, I can do it. I don't recommend that you build it any smaller!

I've got a 30'x30' shop dedicated to the roadking and it seems a little small.

If your crazy then maybe I'm crazy for wanting to help...
How bout a plywood floor with poly under it...then a light 2x2 frame work (hinge wherever) and then sheath it in cardoard. This way your not spending on alot on lumber :/
Light weight, not alot of $$, will fend off the kickball etc. and keep the cats out. Put a light bulb in it for colder weather (if needed) and if its the wrong size ...try something bigger !!

I also like another's post about putting up 2 walls in a corner.

or... one wall along side existing with open or closed ends.

Build it !! don't over build it. My 2c's

SC

PS. I just remembered many yrs ago I needed quick storage.... 3 man dome tent. just sayin

I would build a platform for the water issue and put a cover over it for the kid issue and call it good.
