Default Needing some FuelPak code information

Well I installed fuelpak on my stock 2010 Ultra Classic today. Went to the V&H website to get the code and I get all the way down step 8, Engine and they don't have stock or OEM on the pull down listing (what a joke!). My bike is completely stock except for the header pipe I de-catted. And of course V&H aren't open today for me to call. I hope I didn't make a mistake going wtih the fuelpak. Not happy with the lack of info on the website. Can anyone help me out with a code for a stock bike?

I am going to be fiddling around with one on my 09, I use xieds now.

I figured on my next big trip with all-day riding, I'll swap in the fuelpak mid ride and see if there is any advantage/disadvantage ( I got it cheep from a Pal)

in preparation I had some email communications with V&H and they were super fast with responses to very detailed questions ( during the work week of course)- as i too had poor results with the drop down menus on their site

( I dealt with Javi Preciado jr. preciado at vanceandhines dot com )

they suggested for my bike:

FP-2488

09 96", with ness big sucker and supertrapp slip ons with 24 discs total ( very low restriction)- that is the stock header with no cat

this may or may not be helpful to you

While they don't seem to describe what modes control what, I asked them how to return to "stock" setting for emissions testing ( we have here), they replied:

modes 1 to 18 set to zero will be just like stock ecm settings

modes 23 to 33 leave as programmed for FP- 2488 as they don't affect fuel mixture

Hope this helps

just went and fiddled around on their site- the drop downs are a mess at #8.

changing the exhaust selection may open up the "stock engine" option at #8

If you select V&H for manufacturer, then select a v&h pipe that may be similar to your set up- I used "basic with power duals" they give FP-3731 for a 2010 Ultra with 96"

Try this. Tech told me to pick with power duals when using de-catted head pipe. I also had to bump 45 46 and 47 up to 50 due to throttle response. Helped. I had to experiment a little to get it the way I liked it

STEP 1 Bike Mfg.HARLEY

STEP 2 Bike Year2010

STEP 3 Bike ULTRA CLASSIC

STEP 4 Exhaust Mfg. OEM

STEP 5 Exhaust STOCK MUFFLERS W/POWER DUALS

I used to have a fuel pak on my bike, and had good results with it.

I just plugged your bike into the settings lookup, and was able to get a stock engine in step 8. What are you using for exhaust settings in step 4 and 5?

If you use stock all the way down, for a 2010 UC, you should get map 3208.

If you use oem in step 4 and stock mufflers with power duals (kind of a guess, for a 2-1-2 oem with no cats), you get map 3261.

Thanks for all the info. I'm in the garage on my mobile now. Gonna try out the new map.

@boogaloodude- using OEM and Stock 2n1 on steps 4 & 5.

@myillearth - what are settings 45, 46, 47, & 50? I only see mode numbers to 35. I'm getting close with ya'lls help! Thanks again!

So far, 3208 has performed the best. I would still like to do a little more tweeking just to be sure I'm getting the most out of it. I don't expect to feel seat of the pants performance changes with the stock AC, but hoping to just richen up the AF ratio to get the head temps down. So far so good.

go gentle, keep in mind that extremely over rich mixtures do not make as much power, and the unburned gas can wash past the piston rings, removing the oil film as it goes, and end up in the sump.

until we get a "decoder ring" for each mode it's difficult to know what is being adjusted and where

mike

ps if it is just an across the board richening, the nightrider.com xieds do that well.
they are in operation under most riding conditions ( part throttle- cruising) but not during WOT acceleration- whenever the ecm is gathering data from the o2 sensors

Don't want that much gas, just enough to get the temp down.
