Default Replacing Primary chrome bolts on 2000 Road King

Hi

I am gradually replacing chrome parts on my 2000 RKC, The Harley installation paper says that I have to disconnect battery terminals before fitting replacement bolts to the primary cover, why is this? Can I not just replace them one by one in situ?

Yes. Just replace them one by one and torque them in sequence per your manual.

Yes you can replace them without disconecting the Bat. It's just good habit to develope when working on a bike. Bad things can happen and I won't bore you with the details.

Nope...If you're ever inside the primary, you want the battery disconnected.

Replacing bolts one at a time, no prob...
