$135 for speaker boxes and grills along with 8 screws for the lowersfrom newcastleHD
$160 for a PBR 300x4
$250 or less for 2 sets of decent 6.5" speakers
$30 for wiring
$470 total and a little reaseach your system could be awesome and cheap

and yes i think this setup would be louder then a 250 amp in series

I get $575 when adding your numbers. Not using a calculator so I could be wrong.

Lol I a a retard! Haha you are right $575 is the right answer

and when I said $30 bucks for a wiring I ment if you do some research u will find that wiring it is pretty easy and isn't worth the $100+ for the wiring kit from Yaffe.

Thanks everyone. I've been doing some pricing and you all are 100% right, there's a lot of money to be saved if I piece it together myself. Here's what I've come up with so far:

$160 Rockford Fosgate PBR300x4 Amp
$160 ($80 per pair) Rockford Fosgate T1S652 6 1/2" Shallow Mount Speakers
$50.24 ($25.12 ea) - HD CVO Lower Speaker Boxes
$25 - Rockford Fosgate 10 awg Amp Install kit
$40 - 6.5" speaker adapters

So my total is $435.

The RF speakers come with grills. Any reason I couldn't just use them?

Also, I have some 16 gauge speaker wire (big spool) from my home stereo. Could I just use this?

Am I missing anything else? I assume I could use some heavy-duty velcro to attach the amp to the top of my HK radio. Probably not the best way, but I think i've read many others doing it.

Here's a link to the amp install kit. Does this have what I need?

Thanks for your input.

you will not need that RCA Cable but you can use it for something else. and I recomend when you run your ground you dont run it all the way to the battery. I used one of my tank mounts on the frame. If you get a ground wire over 2' long it can cause interferance. ie humming speakers at low volumes. so dont make it to short where when you turn corners it is tight but dont make it super long ether.

You might have to get a spacer to make the grills work. but i started a thread about this yesterday. CVO lowers speaker options. Is the thread name.

Harleypingman did a couple of excellent write ups with lots of helpful information on this. here is one of them and I believe it has links to the others https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...head-unit.html

Thanks. I just got done reading that thread a little bit ago. I think I will order everything up and try to figure out a way to get the grills to work. Another speaker option i'm considering is an Infinity marine speaker. Seem to get pretty good reviews on amazon. I think the grills it has look pretty cool too.
