I had a slight problem while on a trip to tennessee last sept, great trip, but off and on during the trip my amp cut out a couple off times. hadn't happened again till yesterday, I again took the fairing off, checked wiring routing, shook conectors; no cut out. what I did notice was the fan on the top of the amp wasn't turning. I'm not sure if this is an issue or not. My question is whether the fan runs when the amp is powered or is it thermostatic and only runs if it's getting hot . Can anyone help me out with this. BTW model no. 40.4 . Happened with fm radio, gps, mp3, and cd.
The best thing to do is give Pez a call at Hog Tunes and see what he says about it. On their new amp from what I understand is the fan only comes on when the amp starts to heat up
Does it turn back on when you switch the speaker switch or power on/off. Read this is a radio issue. Just sent mine to iron cross to fix issue. Next time it happens switch the speaker switch on the fairing. May be radio
thanks guys , checked ground, speaker switch, even checked the battery conections, didn't have a achance to contact pez today. hopefully i'll have time tommorrow
