I definitely would bolt it down. If no other reason the bouncing around.
I will measure and you should too but I think 6' is going to be too short. When you hit the chock with the front tire, the back tire needs to be on the board to keep the chock from leaping forward.
Assuming you snugly strap all four corners of the bike down, is bolting the strand board to the trailer floor necessary?
Also, I bought a couple of the chocks and found I can not get my Ultra out of the thing without assistance. Too short, too weak, or too dumb, I don't know. Can you post a picture of where you mounted the 2X6's?
first try moving the pivot point closer to the front of the chock. If that doesn't help, put your feet on the floor like you are going to pull the bike out of the chock. That is where you place the 2xs or 4xs . If I needed the assistance of the 2xs I would brace them against the cross legs of the front of the chock. Then I would cut them so they would end where my feet would be when pushing the bike out. That way you can push against the end of the 2x for extra leverage.
The wheel chock can be bolted to a thin piece of conveyor belt 8' long and the width of your choosing. Washer the bolts, water from drips or floor never a problem, works great. Lasts a lifetime.

Gary, I don't have a picture but at a minmum have them under your floorboards and at least 18" behind them. So about 30" minimum on each side. I will try to get pictures as soon as I can.
