Default rear footpeg parts question

Hello all. I am in the process of getting together the parts to change out the passenger floorboards to chrome and rubber small pegs. All that came with the pegs, (used), was the pegs themselves. I've seen pics of these little bent pieces of steel. Are they necessary to stop the pegs from flopping down when they are in the upright position please?

Default Thanks Dawg

I see that little part in the exploded diagram you provided but wondering why I will need to get two. The pin goes through them and they go in between the peg and the mounting bracket to perhaps provide some resistence to stop them from flopping down or rattling??

"spring washers" they stop rattling and the tension keeps the pegs up.

any "old timey" hardware store will have them

Thanks Mike. I live in a small town and everybody just got flush toilets last year so let's hope the hardware store will have these parts, haha.
Thanks very much.

oh yeah, better chance there than at a big box store.

otherwise just call around, they do have to be made from spring steel.

small town: I've been to the Island, you're just telling stories to keep the tourists away.
