Default swapping guages

My dad has a tri-glide, and I have a street glide. He has black guages in his fairing, which I would like on my black bike. And I have the silver, with chrome trim, which he would like on his. Is there a problem doing a swap? What about mileage, is that stored in the speedo, or a seperate brain?

You didn't mention the year of each model, I'm assuming they are close. It shouldn't be a problem. The mileage is in the speedo.

09 tri-glide, 10 street glide. Is there any way to reprogram speedos with a swap?

No. Unless you know of someone who "hacks" and has the hardware/software to re-program them.

I just went through this recently. Bought a set of Street Glide gauges for my 09 Ultra. I want the mileage to match correctly so, I wound up purchasing a replacement speedo from HD which they will program (one time only) with the mileage I request.

That said, I will have a Black speedo with about 22k miles and a silver speedo with under 2k miles available for sale in a week or so.
