Always looking to keep the bike looking nice but never like spending too much time, rather ride!!!!! Couple tips I use. Once I'm done washing, I hook up my Mr Clean Car was system and use the fine mist spray to help eliminate the water spots. It works damn well. Then I pull out the old leaf blower, fire up the engine, and blow it off. That only leaves a few place to go over with a soft towel. Can give her a good wash and off riding in about 15 minutes.
I haven't "washed" a bike in years. I buy microfiber in big bags from Sam's. Then Harley Gloss or Mcguirers or any other good spray detailer and that's it. Started doing it on trips and never stopped. I use water only if there is real heavy dirt or mud to get everything loosened up...but not often. No swirls or scratches in windshield or paint and no mess to clean up. I am intrigued about the lemon Pledge trick!
Ok, I'll bite. I've seen the lemon pledge tip several times now and keep getting a chuckle out of it and going to the next post. But chit man....what gives with the lemon pledge? Seems like the residue would be greasy as all get out??

Clean the bugs off with hydrogen peroxide, you can mix it with water, but I don't any more,it has not harmed paint, or the windshield on the faring.
It is cheap ,and works very well, I have had a ton of bugs on at one time, just spray it down with the peroxide, and let it set for about 2 minutes, and hose the bugs off, in a pinch I have used spray detailer over that, and wiped it off with a microfiber towel.
My wife sometimes calls me "OCDAR"...Obsessive Compulsion Disorder/Anal-Retentive. Keep that in mind:
When I do a complete clean on the bike, I start with GUNK FOAMING ENGINE CLEANER. Does a fantastic job of getting the stuff off of the entire underside, including inside the fenders. I clean the whitewalls with an SOS pad, as well as the rims. No scratching. SOS does a great job on the exhaust, too, if it's really caked-on crap. As for everything else, I use Pledge Wipes followed with a microfiber towel. The wipes get into small spaces, can be wrapped around most anything, are disposable, and, besides providing a nice shine, leaves a most pleasant fragrance. About the only thing that I don't use pledge wipes on is the seats, floorboards & grips. Especially the seat....Short stops, you know...
