Front suspension not airing up?

Front suspension not airing up?
1998 FLHPI, bought an air pump, as the bike has been down for a while (usually use a friend's) and it was flat. I aired up the rears fine, but when I went to put air in the front, it skyrocketed on half a stroke. took the screw off and back on and it read 0. Seems like it's blocked, is there a common place this happens? What should I look for?

try and screw the core out of the center of the valve and see if its stuck....or maybe just put a little crc on it and give the center pin a push and see if it goes in and out easily...it may just be stuck...if it is stuck they are cheap ...like 20 cents or so at the local bike shop or even toys r us

Cool, never dealt with these before, wasn't sure where to start, but now that you say it, I feel silly...
So are the cores the same as car/bike cores or are they a smaller/different size?
