I'll stand by what I said on page 2, find the dyno shop you plan on using (or dealer), check around to make sure they have a good rep, or make a thread here asking about them, see if anyone has had problems with a tune from them. Once your decision is made on where you are going, go to them and fine out what they recommend. They will recommend what they are comfortable using. Any of the tuners mentioned here will get the job done on a stock bike with just pipes and an A/C. Which one is better really is a subjective matter. Sure some have more features than others, some are more user friendly etc. (but if you are having a shop do the work that really won't matter).
I personally like the SE and TTS tuners. But that is me and the software that I am more familiar with.
While Iam happy with my Cobra PowrPro tuner, it has done everything that was promised, I keep getting the feeling Iam leaving "something" on the table.
If I was closer to harleytuner, I would have him retune my bike simply because of his straight answers to tuning questions. And no I don't know him but have read his replies many times.
The only thing Iam certain is, that my next tuner will be a flash based device and not a piggyback tuner

That's a good call Bruce. You are leaving a bit on the table but you are aware that the piggy back is really to "take the lean out" more than provide best performance.
Not meaning to hijack the thread, but are there any warranty issues with using other tuners or ECM other than SE tuners?

None that I'm aware of. The MOCO has to prove that what you put in your bike was the direct cause for what ever problems you might be having. Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. Read up on it and protect yourself. You can bet your dealer will tell you nothing about it.
In the process of installing my Thundermax today, since I have a 95 with ACR's all I had to do with the ACR's is tie them into the Thundermax, saved lots of time.
Took off my true-duals send them to the welder so he could weld the bung for the O2 sensors.
Get it back tomorrow, and then the download, man I can't wait, it's gonna be 77 tomorow, hope I get it done before afternoon!

The Cobra is a good unit but it only deals with fuel. There is NO substitute for a full custom tune by a competent tuner (such as Harleytuner). All aspects of engine operation are dealt with if.....done by someone who knows what they are doing. Do your research, ask around locally and find out who has a good reputation and go talk to them. Ask what tuner they prefer and why, what end results they tune to, do they want to know what you are looking for. I believe this to be very important.....you owe it to yourself and your tuner to KNOW what you are looking for. Don't show up with that "I trust you to give me what I want" sh*t. You will get what he thinks is best and if it turns out to be something other than what you were looking for, who's fault is it?
I guess it depends on how technical you want to get with it. I opted for the plug and play Cobra PowerPro Fi200R because: 1) I don't change altitudes much, so the Thundermax would be overkill in that one aspect; 2) it was less than half the price of TM; 3) it was literally plug and play; 4) the local Harley shop recommended it. I was reasonably surprised at the increased power and especially, the throttle response - I mean it really was that noticable. Aside from throttle up, the real kicker on my 2002 Ultra is in the 60-80mph range. The power range is some kind of tight in there now - Suh-weet. No doubt, the TM is a superior product for tweaking - and I wouldn't hesitate to own one, especially if I lived anywhere near or traveled frequently to mountainous regions. I would recommend the Cli-Max folks in Waco, Texas. PowerPro is $459.66 there.
