Guys... I just installed new bars, pipes and V&H FuelPak. Since then, yesterday I start my bike and it is running terrible. I begin pulling codes of my speedo. I have several codes however, I notice code P1510 (EFI Limited Performance Mode) any ideas what would cause this code? Also code P2138 (Twist Grip Sensor) maybe pinched a wire while installing wires in the bars??
No need to splice and solder the TBW cable, HD and others sell extension wires that have the correct cable connections, it's all plug and go. Cutting and soldering the TBW may increase the resistance due to the splice which is picked up by the ECM and throws an error code. I can't say for sure, my King is an '04 and no TBW
I fixed my problem today with the CVO throttle grip sensor. It turns out that the infamous little green plug kept disconnecting itself inside the bars. Yes I could have soldered or otherwise made a stronger connection, but for me the 100 bucks for solid wiring from the sensor through the bars was peace of mind. No more codes, and all my power is back.
I have the same codes after doing a bar swap. If you get the answer, be sure to post it and help a brother out!
Found my problem. It was the TBW, I went and picked the Screaming Eagle one, removed all my wires and installed the new TBW. PROBLEM SOLVED. Cleared the codes and good to go. Hope this helps you. Be sure to use plenty of hand soap for lube while pulling all wires in the bars.
