sitting here at work munchin my lunch and started reading this again.... someone mentioned bells given by Jackpine Gypsies long ago. Maybe some confusion or coincidence, but I have worked with Lansing Motorcycle Club on the Jack Pine Enduro for many years. This has been called the Cowbell Classic, and the overall trophy is a cowbell mounted on a trophy. They give a small brass cowbell to the entrants, and the workers are given one if there are any left over. I have a number of these cowbells as both participator and worker over the years. I have thought about tying one on my bike, but hate the thought of "breaking up the set" to do this! The Jack Pine is one of the oldest, longest running enduros in the country... I believe second oldest.
Just thought i would mention this.

I put one on my 04 cop king mounted it to the triple tree big mistake. I went up a drive way and the fender hit the bell square on and dished the fender. people ask about the dent I said all cop kings had um. I moved it below the right floor board, then the next thing I know it disappeared. Guess the gremlins stole it. Anyways I have a new one being sent to me by a forum member, will take caution on mounting it on my 14 TK.
I didn't read the thread...so if this is a joke, you got me.
I don't know if they work or not, but here's my story. A friend gave me one when I got the bike and I put it on the bike. On the way back from the Grand Canyon, I noticed it had fallen off when I was checking tire pressure after shutting down for the night. I didn't think anything of it until the next day when the primary started making a god-awful sound at a fuel stop. I kept going until we got to Conway, Ark and had the bike looked at by the HD Dealer there. They fixed a tensioner that had loosened up and off I went. A friend gave me another one after the bike was fixed, I installed it, it's still there, and all's well...Knock on wood.
