While it's certainly fun to believe that they do, I think the cool part is when a friend gives one to you!

Don't know, seems like every crashed bike I see has one on it though.

I like the story behind the spirit bell. That is what makes it fun. I had a bell on my 09 FXDC and some clown back over my bike with me on it. Than he took off! Did 5k in damage. The sheriff asked me what I did to provoke the driver. I couldn't believe it! But my spirit bell didn't have a scratch on it.

All I want to hear on my bike is the engine, transmission and exaughst. Any other noise is a nuisance that needs to be diagnosed and possibly eliminated. Something going ding-ding would drive me bat s#it ! I have some of those bells new sitting in my tool box. No way am I gonna add crap that sounds like crap.

Mine must have worked to reduce the damage to my 07 RK and keep me out the Hospital.
Hit a deer and only thing that happened, was my front fender and my lights got smashed up and I didn't dump the bike.
