2012 SG cigarette lighter
Guessing my cigarette lighter is wired wrong it doesn't charge my iPhone for some reason. The accessory plug under the seat powers it just fine.
Searching found a few others have swapped out their cigarette lighter for a regular accessory adapter. Going on a weekend trip in a couple weeks need to get ready for it.
Any other ideas?

Worked before I tried to plug the iphone adapter into it. Will have to try again when I get home to make sure I didn't pop the fuse. But the iphone doesn't draw very much power at all.

You might have to check the lighter wires. My 08 Ultra had the hot wire to the outside of the lighter and the ground to the center. It blew the inline fuze for my GPS when I tried it. I reversed the wires where the center is hot and the outside is ground and it's worked perfect since then.
Somewhere I read that the cig lighter can't be used with typical automotive cig lighter chargers/adapters as the socket is not the same as a typical cig lighter. Don't recall if it was in the owners manual or where, but it was pretty clear it won't work.

I use my cigarette lighter to power my Zumo 220 GPS and also charge my droid Razr and have never had a problem. Not sure what's up with yours.

Same thing I mine. All you've got to do is remove the outer
Fairing and switch the 2 wires on the back of the plug. It will charge and it will still light the cigarrette lighter thing.
