I Need some help, running like crap after fuel filter change
I changed my fuel filter today. The kit came with a new corrugated hose, so I changed that too. I idles fine, but when you give it throttle, it spits and pops.
What could I have done wrong. It's running like it's starving for fuel. I am going to have to drain the tank, and pull it apart again. What should I be looking for in there?
Will I need to buy yet another set of bolts with the seals on em? How about the new rubber gasket that I just put on?
Yes I believe you need to open it back up and double check your work. Does the pump pressure up and stop? If so does the line loose pressure and start the pump again before you actually hit the start button?
I had this same issue one time after getting my tank back from paint. The hose was kinked. It could also be a hole in the hose as I had this issue too (since you replaced the hose, I'll bet on the kink).

I took it back apart, checked thes hoses, electrical connections, etc, I fired her up and it seems to be running good now. I wont be sure until I get it out on the road for a test ride. Maybe one of the hoses was kinked in there. Hopefully that all it was.
OK, so It's still running very poorly. I disassembled again, bought another convoluted hose (the one that goes from the fuel pump to the filter), buttoned up, and still the same problem.
So I completely drained the tank, un bolted the the other convoluted tube, put air pressure to it while in a bucket of water, and no bubbles, no hole.
I'm at my whits end here, what the h*ll did I screw up? I have been using the HD hose clamps, but I do not have the crimping tool. I used channel locks to crimp them and tighten them up. Could this be my problem?
Maybe the o-ring got messed up when installing the new filter? I'd pull it all out and check the regulator as well. You also might want to check the fitting under the tank and where it connects inside the tank. Did you have a problem bending the arm to get it back in or did you finagle with it for a while?
