Looking to put hard bags on my road king classic. Obviously I want them painted. Have seen a couple places offering it. Curious with the most cost effective way. Buying bags....aftermarket or used harley ones? Taking them to get painted......or buying aftermarket already painted. I. In the bay area California. Anybody have experience with this? Thanks alot
I suppose it would depend on the color of your bike to match.I was looking to do the same thing when i was looking into hardbags and way to expensive for me to buy hardbags and then get them painted to match my bike as i have a particular color.I ended up buying a set of hardbags(new) made for an 08 ultra that had the same colors(scheme) as my bike.Saved a bunch. If your bike is black probably wouldnt be so bad.

any auto paint is expensive but when there tri colors or reds and maroons and pearls ther is no saving money harley colors they want a arm and a leg for there colors. when your ready to paint the bags send me a PM iam a painter by trade i do custom fabrication flush mount lights i live in modesto, calif. right down the street from u.

FWIW itll probably be a very good idea to check with roadgliderick couldnt hurt. Second in 2000 harley had the roadglide in that same color bronze pearl so they definately had the hard bags. The color i believe was one of the standard colors that year so i would assume it wouldnt be too hard match.
