Default speakers

I got my 09 streetglide out for a quick spin today and it seemed to me that i cant hear my radio as well at higher speeds as i did last year. Kind of sounds like it distorts more or something, maybe its just me. But I had the thought of putting different speakers in the fairing, and i would be going from the stock size to a 6.5 inch speaker. Is there any speakers alone(any brand) that would increase my sound output and quality at higher speeds? Or would i have to do an amp and/or head unit as well? Looking for a plug and go, quick, easy way to get some more volume. I will have the fairing off doing some burly bagger bars in the next week or two, so i figured i mite as well do the speakers when the fairings off if im going to do them... Any makes/models of speakers or what have you would be awesome, thanks in advance!!

From the research that I have read, J&M are one of the best, but they are pricey. That is one of the reasons that I went with Hogtunes. I am not trying to spend an arm and leg on my tunes. I got the new Rev 70.2 amp and speakers with the Hogpod for 410.

Any speaker other than stock is going to sound better. How much are you wanting to spend is the question.

If you want the easiest the Hogtunes are the way to go. Plug and play, short money, and should be a nice upgrade. If you want a 6.5 inch speaker you'll need adapters, and you really should put an amp in while you are at it. The J&Ms will cost twice what the Hogtunes go for, and the Rokkers will be way more than that, but again, you should use an amp with those.
