Ya, I just bought my first Harley a week ago. I too thought that this beautiful bike would be perfect stock. The salesman gave me the Harley mod/parts catalog and I have already got a few thousand $$ worth of things I "NEED" as soon as possible :-)
on sunday. I taking a test rid on bot a street glide and electa glide classic. Will probably pull the trigger if I enjoy it. I have been riding the last 6 years on a Suzuki VS1400 and its time to move up.

Both are nice bikes, and I have no doubt that you will enjoy it. The 'Harley Electra-Glide' name is kind of iconic and I always liked it. Ride safe and welcome to the family!
Welcome from AZ! I was new here about a year ago. In fact, it was one year ago yesterday I totaled my 2007 Nomad. By the time I got done putting a tourpak, fairing, exhaust, cruise control and all the other goodies I had on it, I would have saved money buying a Harley in the first place. Now I have the bike I want, with all the bells and whistles already on it.
Thanks for all the replies and welcomes. I have no doubt that I will be buying this weekend. As of right now I am leaning towards the SG, denim black. I will be around for a bit, when not riding of course, with lots of questions and tales of excitement.
The EGC has the function of the Tour-Pak and it's built for 2-up riding. That fact that the EGC comes with more "stuff" for the same price is a better value and you can strip the EGC (to a certain extent) to get that SG look.
My two cents.
Good luck in your quest for the right motorcycle for you.[/quote]
I have done this and it works great. One thing I've noticed is that with the Electra Glide you get a Street Glide look in a different color..a color that isnt made for the Street Glide...
