I put up with this for two days. If I can't disable this ABS, I am going to take my Wife's advice and get rid of the bike. I now do not trust this ABS at all. Been riding for over 30 years without ABS and I consider it a good solution to a nonexistent problem.
I am guessing you have a warped rotor.

I am not a fan of HD's ABS with the problems it has had and the shitty suspension that can lead to premature activation but that posters problems do point to a warped rotor. I have gone through a few of them. The stock rotors are pretty much junk.

Default Abs

I rode my '09 Street glide for 6 months when my tire guy put the wrong bearing in the front. The light was on and I didn't have ABS but I ride a lot of different bikes without ABS so it wasn't that big a deal. When I changed the tire again I put the right bearing in. Fast forward a couple of years and my front brake went solid The lever wouldn't move at all. I backflushed it couple of times and it started working. But I did notice when I just unplugged the module the brakes all work just fine. I'm going to replace the module because I don't like the light on. But if you're out riding and it malfunctions you can unplug that module and have regular old brakes to get you home. Or keep riding that way with the light on. Personally I don't like ABS You hit a hard bump and it decides whether or not you're going to stop.

A lot of guys who stunt ride, ride aggressively don’t like abs. When you have been raised on motorcycles your hand and your foot are your abs. Abs
is designed for your average rider. Just sayin 😄

But here's the rub - a lot of guys *think* they are experts, but in fact they are "average riders".

I really don't care what anyone does to their bike but I find the debates to be enormously entertaining.
