I have a Tourmaster 1 piece that I've had for 5 years, works great. I think I may try a 2 piece next year, only drawback with the one piece is that it won't fit over my jacket, so when there is only a little rain I still have to wear the whole thing instead of the pants only.
Make sure if you get a froggTogg get the one they make spacifically for motorcycle riding . i think its called the RoadToad ha . i bought mine and my GFs from Sportsman's Guide. close outs .
A lot of people that were unhappy with Frogg Togg bought the cheapo Frogg Tog not the more expensive one specifically for motor cycle riding .
They come with a glue on heat shield . I tossed that and cut a cpl large leather patch out of a coat I bought at a thrift store fore $5. I treated the patches with SNO-SEAL water proof a and had them sewn on the inside of the pant legs .
We have rode a few hours in heavy rain stayed dry it was about $60 per suit I think retail is about $79.
bought my first set of FroggToggs about 20 years ago at the Davis Rally in Iowa, when they first came out motorcycle rallys were about the only place that you could get them, they were $90 back then, now you can get them on sall for $29, have tryed a lot of other suits over the years but always end up back with my Toggs, light, cool and dry, just keep away from your pipes!!
I had bad luck with the FroggToggs....wore them several times and they leaked at the waist and the neck. I got the hi-vis HD and I love it. Especially the thin hood that goes under the helmet. I have ridden in a lot of bad rain and have stayed dry.
In the world of motorcycles there's places to save money and places to spend money.
Rain suits are one of the spend categories. Cheap ones leak and soon fall apart or rot in the bag. Getting soaked on a trip makes you miserable for hours after the storm passes and no one wants to be miserable when riding. A good rain suit will keep you bone dry and last for years.
I use a Cabela's two piece suit. If you go two piece make sure the lower part are bibs and not just pants.
Well, there's cheap and then there's value. I ride my bike almost every day, tour extensively, and got tired of cheap rain suits that didn't do their job. I finally sprung about $700 for the Aerostich Darien jacket and trousers. They are among the highest quality out there, and are absolutely waterproof even in all-day rains. Pricey? You bet! But among the best purchases I have made.
