Rainsuits?
I think the Frog Toggs are good value only if you have them as a "just in case" set. Those days where you are staying relatively local, short hops, etc. No big storm type possibility. They're great for the errant shower. If you're going to be on the road, truly touring, you need to go for a better quality suit for those trips. Everyone made good suggestions. Invest in a good set up for your big trips. One use in a solid downpour that's going on for an extended period will make them worth it. It's no fun if you're soaked or having to sit it out screwing up your plans.
I got the HD high vis. suit. It is black and orange with reflective stripes. Has panel inside thigh area to keep from melting. It is not the cheapest suit you can buy but rode home last year in a hard downpour and was dry as a bone when I arrived. So far this has been the best rain gear I have owned so far.
I bought this one from leatherup.com last fall.

I haven't had to put it to the test yet, but I've had it out, checked out the quality, and tried it on. Seems well made and I like the heat panels on the inside of the legs to resist melting them to your pipes.

My wife and I tour long sidtances a lot on one bike, a RKC. So storage is at a premium. We both have the HD packable (grey and orange) suits and gator boot covers. They take up little room and are good quality material. Rode 300 miles in a constant rain one year and kept dry.
Yep, gottta go quality on a rain suit. I have the old Gore Tex HD they quit making, had it since 2001 and it has seen some serious rain. never let me down yet, I stay dry. My riding buddy srung for the FXRG set and he absolutely swears by it. He doesn't wear leather anymore or a rainsuit. For me, it would have to be Harley or TourMaster, Cabela's and others have good rainsuits but hunters don't usually deal with hot exhaust and engine and 70 mph speeds.

HD HI-Viz + HD boot gaiters + HD rain gloves (dunno the model/style, but they're gauntlets made of nylon with a very light, thin fleece liner). Couple hundred miles in that gear and I was dry, and that was on my Dyna - just a windshield, no fairing or lowers.
