Destination
Don't know what you consider old, but I'm no spring chicken.
One other thing we like to do also is take pictures of the bike in front of dealerships. Then the wife buys a dealership pin. Some day I'm going to but a map of the US that is like 6' X 8' and hang it on the garage wall. Then print out little pictures of the bike in front of different state capitals and dealerships and put the pictures on the map.
First goal is usually scenery and twisty roads getting to it. (The Blue Ridge Mountains are a default destination.)
Second, my riding buddy and I are both history buffs so we go to historic sites. Around here, that is often Civil War battlefields--Gettysburg (PA), Harpers Ferry (WV), Antietam (MD) and Manassas (Bull Run--VA).
Third--Food. BBQ is always a draw.

BBQ joints and Smokehouses are always a good destination....
Its the journey getting there and not back-tracking on roads
getting home that makes it more enjoyable.
500 to 600 mile lunch rides are common for us....
NH, VT, and MA have some fine bbq joints along with
freshly smoked meat houses...and we're trying to sample them all.
