....want to go with the Shorty antenna's for a couple of reasons anyways question is:
...anyone got any feed back as far as preformance differance from the longer whip for the raido or the CB preformance or if I was to go with Tour-Pak quick di$connect and have to relocate any problems there with same or mounting?
I replaced the am fm antenna with the shorty and took of my tourpak. I did notice a little less reception from the shorty. I have not tried to put the long whip on without the tour pak and see it its just the lower mount height or if it the fact im using a shorter antenna. but yes i did notice a difference. I live out in the sticks about 1 hr from every radio station. some are just as strong but some are falling out a little sooner depending on which way im driving.
I have used a $15 shorty antenna from AutoZone and reception was equivalent to my stock antenna on the SG. It's flexible, rubber, and cheap but still has a decent look!

Do you have the part number or any particular type?
I like the stock whip but it's too tall and doesn't work in my garage where I have shelves on the wall.
