Newgie washing question

Newgie washing question
I have washed the faring, bags and tour pack by hand but I am reluctant to use the car wash for the engine, wheels and underside. I'm I wrong? Can I use the car wash without screwing something up as long as I don't blast it into the electronics?

keep any high pressure streams away from electronics, instruments, speakers, muffler tips, intake, oil/tranny fillers and wheel bearings.
when washing I put plastic bags over the mufflers and intake.
hose/bucket wash in always better, most components are water resistant, not water proof

Watch this video for some good advice. I use 50/50 Purple power and it works great.
But just be back a few steps if you go with a high pressure. Some car wash places have the spot free rinse which is low pressure
