Question touring manual

been looking online & cant seem to find out if the 1999 service manual would be the same for a 2004. does anyone know??

It won't be the same. HD changed EFI systems, charging systems, etc.

I'm as thrifty as the next guy (maybe more so), but I wouldn't try to save $20 or so on an out of date SM. JMO.

and the brakes are different...

Just enough changes year to year to cause a real problem, which you don't realize until you are doing it.

I dont get it.... What is the problem with pdf manuals... And discussing them?

Copyright infringement. The people that own the rights to the book want to get paid when someone gets a copy of it. Wouldn't you if it were yours?
This is a potential nightmare for the forum if someone were to sue for infringement as this forum reaches so many people. Serious enough to end the forum and then some.

HD has never released any of their manuals in PDF format. Those that sell them are doing so illegally. Our rules prohibit discussing obtaining illegal manuals.
