I bought a set last year, I had the Max 2 first but found them too loud so I returned them for the Max 1. I love them, they are recored harley mufflers so they look stock.
I believe stock pipes are 80db, Max 1 88db and Max 2 95db.
So they right in the middle.
They use stock pipes that the dealer takes off for aftermarket pipes, so they may have a few scratches.
Bob was great to deal with and for the price you can't beat them.

I have the Max 2's and really like them, not as deep as Rineharts though is the only complaint.

Didn't care for the 1's... Liked the 2's quite a bit, but didn't use them as intended to some extent...

Eh, read this - Might be just what you're looking for: http://www.johnscrip.com/html/blog_f...w_mufflers.php

Concentrate on the part about using the left Max2 and the stock right... That was the magic.

KEEP IN MIND OF COURSE that depending on what year you're running, IME, you aren't going to be satisfied with anything until the cat goes away.

I had the Max 1 on my 2011 Road King with a stock head pipe. It wasn't very loud and only a minor improvement over stock. Basically it sounds like stock and gets the stock snarl when you get on it quicker than with stock pipes. I ended up putting on a thunderheader 2 into 1. If you want a cheap slip on I would go with the Wild Pig Exhaust off of eBay. They are comparable in price. I would also get Vance&Hines true duals. Just my opinion.

No, I am very happy with my thunderheader exhaust. I had considered the wild pigs and V&H True Duals when I was looking for a new exhaust. Wild Pig's website also has de-catted stock exhaust for $150. I think the slipon mufflers are around $150 as well. Then you could get an Arlen ness big sucker intake for around $100 and a V&H Fuel Pak for around $200. Do the work yourself and you would have one cheap stage 1 upgrade.

O.K., so if you are not on a budget, you would recommend 2 into 1. I'm going to change again, just haven't decided to what yet. I don't like the look of 2 into 1 on a bagger, but I haven't completely ruled it out. I've still got my V&H Dresser Duals, but have went back to stock header with 4" Jackpots. I will probably order the quite baffle for them because they are too loud to suit me. I just don't like loud continuously anymore, and many places are starting to hassle guys over it. Hate to lose any low end power though, so I'm undecided right now. I've got a 31 tooth front sprocket, to install, to go with my 68 tooth rear, so I'm thinking I could go back to the duals and maybe not lose much. Just can't decide which way to go. I am concerned about the many negative posts I've read about the V&H O2 bung holes since I am running the Rev. Perf. ECM. I am open to informed suggestions.
(did I just hi-jack this thread?????)

Well you know more about than I do. It just sounded like the OP might be on a budget since they were asking about B&E exhaust. The sound clips I had heard of them sounded nice but I was disappointed when I installed them. Maybe I should have gutted the cat in my head pipe. But I had some money to burn and went with the thunderheader. Allegedly 2 into 1 exhaust have more power from what I have read on this forum. I am no expert by any means though.
