Good luck with the surgery. I did almost the same thing before total knee replacement. Put a brace on the knee and did almost 500 miles the weekend prior to my surgery. That was in Sept and been riding since Feb when the weather will let me. You will be back in the saddle before you know it.
Took RK out this afternoon one day before surgery for a torn rotator cuff tomorrow. It`s 80 degrees here in upstate NY. Rode for a 1/2 hour and did ok. Shoulder was burning when I got back. Stupid? Maybe, but it will be months before I`m ready to ride again. Everybody put some extra miles on for me in the next few months!
I had my right rotator cuff repaired in 07, do everything your surgeon and your therapist tells you hopefully both are top notch. Don't be shy in therapy push yourself it's worth it, I had a pretty jacked up cuff, I was in therapy from the 2nd week after surgery until January I've got about 95% of the motion back but it's not as strong as it once was. I still do the exercises and stretching that I did in therapy the arm feels great now no pain, that injury hurts like a mother. I guess 31 years in the masonry trade is a little hard on equipment, good luck your gonna be itching to ride I know I was...............................
