Default Cig lighter

Any one removed the cig lighter from their fairing and replaced it with a power plug? If so, how do you get the lighter out?

Power plug? If you remove the lighter, you have a power plug receptical. but if you want something different you'll likely have to remove the fairing to get to it.

While the manual says not to use it to power accessories, I do anyway and I haven't had a problem. You just need to make sure whatever you're plugging in is short enough that it won't hit the tank in a turn. I bought this... http://www.walmart.com/ip/Bracketron...arger/15523668 at Walmart. Works well, and you can plug anything USB into it. I've charged my MP3 player, phone, and ran a GPS using it with no problem (not all at the same time).

I disconnected it and hardwired my GPS to it.

I ran a 12v compressor from the cig lighter without issue.

You need to remove your fairing and unscrew the lighter socket from the back. You can use the Orange wire for power when your ignition is switched on. As mentioned, make sure whatever you use does not hit the tank when you turn your forks.

Here's what I use. Haven't had any problems either.
