I think we need a seat where she sits a couple inches or so higher than the rider.

I also use the HD Sundowner for 2up with the wife. She really likes it. It does move you up and a little forward, but nothing I can't handle.

Have you considered having your seat altered? You already know what you want it to be like, so just have someone make it that way for you. I had way too much invested in my street glide pattern backrests (adjustable driver and passenger) so I just decided to get my seat redone. My seat looks like the stock one but it feels as good or better than any aftermarket I've sat on (other than those gigantic and unsightly pillow style ultra seats) and its reasonable to have it done. They will listen to what you want and try to create it. I even had my passenger seat redone and my ex-wife (who complained about every new seat on every Harley I've ever owned) even said she found it comfortable. I had Mean City do mine and after some of my friends tried it, the got him to do theirs when we were at the next Thunder Beach. If you like the seat you have looks wise, just have someone make it more comfortable.

Get a Corbin Classic Solo with removable passenger pilon. This way you get a comfortable, great looking seat, and a rider seat that can come off when not needed.

I'd suggest the Mustang Touring model with backrest. The wife's portion is 14 " wide and she'll love it. I've had one on my Street glide and works well. I've had Mustangs on my last 3 bikes. They make a great product.

Sundowner is the way to go for 2 up. It moves you slightly forward but it is comfortable.
