I have the Mustang Touring with backrest and passenger pilon (14"). The wife and I have driven 8 hours at a time without really sore asses. I like Mustang products.

send the CVO seat to mean city cycles for a passenger seat mod???

I ride 95% solo on my 10 FLHX, wife rides her own. I got a buy on a used Mustang 15" solo w/o backrest, it was a nice seat but I really needed a back rest & probably the 17" version. I had a previous bike with the Ultimate seats so I got the Ultimate 16" solo w/ backrest & seperate Pillion. Utimate has the best foam around in my opinion, great support & quick remove backrest. Mustang is great but firmer & Corbin are just HARD. Solo cross country touring I go 450-700 mi. days & I have a bad back. If you want a cheaper go take a test ride on an Ultra Classic. They have a decent seat for the passenger. You can get a new one from Newcastle for under $250 + shipping. Sundowner are nice but they do move you up & forward.
