What is the secret to removing the lowers on an Ultra? The lower bolt/bracket is easy enough, where are the bolts for the top portion of the faring?
Are they hidden in the glovebox?
easy to remove ,there 2 bolts in glove box per each lower. once you do this it goes from a 25min job to a 10-15 min job. hold off on buyingthose quick release bolt sets.imo
I found the two nuts in the glove box, but no way to get to the front of the bolt. It looks like the front part of the glove box pops off after these 2 nuts are removed.
Like the others said, just open the glove boxes and remove the two nuts on each side.
By the way, I added a rubber washer (Ace Hardware) to the inside of the lower bolt to protect the bottom of theplastic lower fairings when I put them back on.My clamps seemed to have been screwed too tight when new and the clamp bolt was eating into the plastic. The minor mod seems to solve the problem.
