Default used jugs question

Buddy of mine bought these jugs off ebay and is giving them to me for less down time. They look the same all around and have the same part number, but the tops look different. Is there a big difference between them or can they still be used, or am I just stupid and one is for the front and one for the rear???? Also the one that looks older has a little rust on one of the dowels, can that be cleaned up when bored?

The rust on the dowel can be cleaned up with Scotch Brite.
Have you measured the bores?

They were 1450 take-offs and I'm getting them rebored for a 1550 so I shouldn't have to measure them should I?

If being bored, the shop will take a look at them. I would let them know to take a good look at them prior to their work, just incase there is something and you and they can then make the next plan. More than likely they are good and will save you some time on the change.
Best of luck!
