Hi Y'all, Anyone have any opinionon Hard Bag Liners. I can get a pair for $30.00 U.S. with shipping for my Standard Electroglideand wonder if they are of any use for local biking or just for taking trips. I've never heard them being used and toss it up to the Forum Community.
I think they are great. They prevent anything in the bags from rub wear. We
used them at Sturgis last year - in the rain all we had to do was flip the bag top,
pull the liner and run inside while the others got soaked gathering their items.
Some vendors will embroider (sp?) your name on them. I had them put
"Hugh Jass" on mine - it's always good for a laugh. Mine liners are always
with me.
My helmet vibrates in my hard barg, my spray on wax gets holes in the bottle from rubbing i wish I had a set for everyday use.
now, BIG RED on this foum has a set and he likes them, almost as much as me. Every time he is in town he grabs his bag pulls it out and goes inside my house. Very simple to pick up and go when you arrive.
I bought the fitted saddlebag liners #92189-06 ($139.00) so Idon't have to hear stuff rattling around in my bags and can put an extra half helmet inside and not worry about scratching it. They work great. Had the removable ones, and for day to day use, they seemed more of a pain the a**.
We use them on long trips and love 'em. My brother and I often ride together (both have Electra Glide Classics)and when we stay overnight anywhere it's almost funny. My wife and Ipull our linners from the bike and head up the room while he's pulling his stuff and repacking it in another bag orsomething to carry up. His girlfriends alwaysget upset but I think he uses it as an excuse to theworld their panties!! The liners are well worth the money and you got a bargin, how could you go wrong?
