Progressive 940"s in the rear and Progressive Mono tubes in the front. Much better ride with adjustable rear shocks and no more front dive and oil changes in the forks.
Yup..... same on my '09 FLHRC...... and had Danny Gray make a custom seat.... handles and rides better than stock ever did and you don't have to mess with constant air adjustments.......
Thanks for the imput guys. Sounds like Progressive are good shocks.
I am on a budget, just trying to set the bike up so I can ride it!!! Gotta get pipes so people will hear me (but we all know I really am doing it for the sound)
Put on some Beach Bars so I can read the handle bars. I got short arms with the short legs - they came as a matching set.
And it has to be lowered.
I got the bars, and the pipes are on the way, and so are the shocks. If these shocks are rough and suck, maybe in a few months I can get some more expensive, better riding ones - but for now, at least I can ride and be a little safer.
1) you can "bounce" your bike backwards by holding the front brake while pushing on the handlebars and letting go as the shocks
rebound...that's good for a little bit of help.
That is the greatest trick of time!!!! I love it!!!!
Here is an UPDATE:
I should have ordered the shocks from Burley Band.... But I went the el-cheapo route and got some off ebay.
They are 11" eye to eye, so it dropped the rear 2 inches. Now, I can really handle my bike better on uneven slopes and parking lots, etc ---- BUT, it rides ROUGH, very stiff in the rear.
It is very expensive setting up a new bike (pipes, handlebars, shocks, sissy bar, etc) So I am trying to save money here and there.....
In the next month or so, I'm definately gonna try some Burley shocks.
just to let you know ive got a 2006 RKC and ordered some burly slammer suspension set up and waiting for them to arrrive from sunny CA to the UK
i looked into it a lot and found that the burly gave a lot of better slamm and better ride but i dont need them as im 6ft 1" and just went for the looks
so when i get them and on the bike ill post back to you and post a couple of pics for you but it should be around 2 1/2" on rear and 2" on the front drop so should look the biz
