I tried SE Heavy (#99881-87), not the Extra Heavy racing variety, for my first fork-oil change and liked the moderate increase in firmness, no bottoming, and generally better control. Dawg tried a 50:50 mix of SE Heavy and Type E and recommended it, so I tried that for the second and third changes and have decided to continue using the mix. It's a bit smoother without losing the positive attributes.
I'm about 228.
Ride a Dyna WG, but should be close to the same.
1st- went from stock to 15W Belray. Better than stock
2nd- added progressive wound springs, with 15W. Better than #1, with some jarring on hard hits.
2a- added Ricor Intimidators, 5W Belray to the above. Some good, some not so much. Never tried it with recommended Amsoil....
Went back to #2.
3rd- had Ricor Intimidators modded by fabrik8r, Belray 3W, and Racetech 1.0 kg springs. Incredible ride now.
Oil can only do so much. An improvement.
You have to decide how much you want, and that will lead to how much you want to spend, of course.
I installed the SE heavy fork oil PN 99881-87 in the spring of 2011. I like the firmer ride on the front end. Compared to the standard fork oil, the forks don't compress as much when braking and the bike handles much better.
