Softy needs some Touring help...
It was suggested that i post this over here since you touring folk swap in the SE compensator more then we do. Why, i don't know, i love it except for one possible unexpected consequence..
07 Fatboy, internally all stock, no tuner, self made exhaust from a roadglide.. anyways...
I installed the SEC this winter and while it cured a lot of vibration and noise issues, i believe its zapped my fuel mileage. last yr, and fall i was getting 42-45 mpgs. with the winter gear on the bike,( grip shields and eng guard chaps, i'll ride down to 30 degs so its pretty much yr round for me) i pretty much ignore the fuel mileage cuz i know its gonna drop due to more drag, colder temps, winter blend etc.. anyways, now that the weather is nicer and the winter setup is off, though winter blend is still being pumped at stations i'm down to 38-40 mpgs.
the only thing i can figure is the SEC additional weight on the crank is zapping the mpgs. has anyone else noticed this or should i be looking for another cause or just wait until the winter fuel blend changes and see what happens.. other then that i love what the SEC does for the B engine.
TIA..
