Not sure why you're having cupping issues on the rear; I've never had that issue on any of the three tires I've had on there. I put an American Elite on about 7k ago and it still looks new; I like it a lot better than the original tire. FWIW I was able to get about 14k on the first 407 and 12k on the second one. I hope to get more out of the American Elite.
Been having cupping problems with my 2009 RKC went through 5 rears and got about 15k out of each. Had really bad high/low spot wear on the outsides. Would sound like 4x4 car/truck tires at times. Always checked my PSI etc.
So, now I have the same problem with my 2011 RKC with just about 15k on the rear. Probably would have gotten another 4k if it was because the wear pattern.
I complained to HD and Dunlop over the years and they don't want to admit to nothing. Dunlop did send me a rear for free one time.
