Default Another amp thread.

I have my PBR300x2, Polk MM651Um 6.5" speakers, and Throttleup speaker adapters on the way. I will be using my stock stereo. I hope it sounds as good as everyone has stated. I used to work installing alarms in my past. I don't think it's that hard. I'm kinda excited to hear what it will sounds like installed.

If you have any words of wisdom, please post them. I would like to learn from others who have installed a similar setup. Thanks in advance

I had mm651um and couldn't get them to fit, wasn't enough room in the fairing. Maybe the adapters you have are different and they will fit?

i just installed the exact same setup today....except, my polk's are the mm651's....couple things: the throttle up rings are a pain in the d&*$...they give u their screws and use them as instructed except for the bottom one...the bottom screw is not long enough to catch, so u'll need to use the stock screw so keep it....also, before u put the speakers in loosen the metal bracket or u will not be able to fit the speakers....that reminds me, the wholes from the the speaker to the adapters don't line up to an exact fit, the screws polk give u will kinda go in at an angle...took wjl24, shizzle and myself more time to put the adapters and speakers in than it did for us to do the whole rest of the project...right now, i have my gain set to "6" and the amp is set to "HP" (High Pass)...Also sounds good on "AP" (all pass) as well...I forget what the frequency is set to in high pass...Overall, this thing is loud as hell and very clear...The bass response was making my mirrors shake...My neighors were not happy as a couple of them came outside to see who the a$$holes were with the loud radio...For me, the bass in these speakers was the most impressive aspect...As stated before, these speakers take some time to break in....

+1 on every thing said about the throttle up speaker adapters. They will get the job done but they didnt impress me, and thier screws suck.

Those are the ones I used as well with my Polks.

The mounted right up.
I think I paid $50 or so from J&P for them...

I used the Throttle Up adapters and had no problems mounting my Infinity 6.5" Kappa's. Piece of cake...
