Actually, I confirmed the MM651 is a coaxial speaker with the tweeter mounted in the middle so the grill is removable. The MM651UM have the tweeter mounted in the middle of the grill, so the grill is not removeable. It was designed as "Ultra Marine" because there is no whole in the middle of the speaker. the UM will not mount in the fair unless out mounted to the outside. The MM651 will work.

I ordered my stuff through Sonix Electronics. Really nice. Not the lowest price, but if you willing to do a little leg work, they will match almost any price. I got my PBR300x2 for 149 and was able to switch my MM651UM for MM651s... at 119. Couldn't beat the price and their service was great also. total $270.00 with free shipping.

Ok, sorry about the Mis-information on the grills being removable. Just got done running my amp wire to the battery. Didn't have to remove the gas tank totally. Unbolted it and lifted about 3-4 inches from the frame. Ran the wire along the right side of the frame in a plastic automotive shielding, there are some plastic "clips" along the right side which the amp wire fit into perfectly. Next step will be to remove the fairing and get started mounting everything. Hope those MM651's fit in there!!!

Sorry I stand corrected.. being in a HD forum thought we were talking about the mm651 not the mm651um.

Lots of great information in this thread. Thank you!
Can someone confirm the following?

Will the Polk Audio MM651UM (ultra marine) speaker fit in the batwing fairing when using the Hawg Wired 6.5" speaker adapter rings (part number AR65B) without any issues?
Basically this should be plug-n-play?

Sorry guys. The MM651UM will not work. The tweeter is mounted in the grill. You can not remove the grill.. I guess you could if you were to cut out the tweeter. This is why I changed my order to MM651s. They are only 2.7ohm, but the PBR300x2 goes down to 2ohms.

Started the Speaker / Amp install today. The MM651 speakers with the Hawg Wired adapters fit in the RGC fairing with about 1/2" -3/4 " to spare. The adapters have an offset built in and are positioned to have the speakers closer to the radio. Now I need to make an amp mount and get that mounted before wiring the system. Chris
